Basketball Recap: Belleview Christian Takes a Loss

Belleview Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-18 defeat at the hands of the Union Colony Prep Timberwolves. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.

Faith Rosiere and Harjas Thiara certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Rosiere almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 boards, while Thiara posted nine points and five steals. Rosiere is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Soliana Gebremeskel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Union Colony Prep, dropping a triple-double on 42 points, 11 boards, and 13 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gebremeskel has scored at least a third of Union Colony Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Jaelynn Valdez, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Belleview Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Union Colony Prep, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belleview Christian will face off against Peetz at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Union Colony Prep, they will take on Fleming at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
