Soccer Recap: Green Run Takes a Loss

Green Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Hickory Hawks, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Green Run can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Hickory are ranked 29th).

Green Run's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Hickory, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4-1.

Looking ahead, Green Run will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. Green Run are facing Lakeland at the right time seeing as Lakeland are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Hickory does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
