Volleyball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Great Bend Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-12.

Leading Great Bend to victory were Kimmy Hofflinger and Meredith Mazouch. Hofflinger had five aces, while Mazouch had three digs and one assist. Those five aces gave Hofflinger a new career-high.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for Great Bend, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Coming up, West will challenge Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Tuesday. As for Great Bend, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Hutchinson on the 4th.
