Softball Game Preview: Morton Ranch Mavericks vs. Seven Lakes Spartans

The Morton Ranch Mavericks are taking a road trip to challenge the Seven Lakes Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Morton Ranch is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Morton Ranch lost 17-2 to Cinco Ranch on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Mavericks have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Seven Lakes didn't have quite enough to beat Mayde Creek on Tuesday and fell 4-3.

Seven Lakes saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Rich, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Rich's first of the season.

Morton Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Seven Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Morton Ranch might still be hurting after the 22-9 defeat they got from Seven Lakes when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Morton Ranch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
