Football Recap: Four Winds Starts off Right with Win over Larimore

Four Winds took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Larimore Polar Bears 50-14. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Polar Bears: they've now won six in a row.

Four Winds' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marial Deng led the charge by picking up 185 receiving yards and three TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground. Deng really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards. Kaleb Keja was another key signal caller, throwing for 249 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Four Winds proved: they limited Larimore to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. While three picked up at least three total tackles, Deng stood above the rest. He picked up 185 receiving yards and three scores, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Four Winds didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.8.

Although Larimore took the loss, they still got scores from Dyllan Rethemeier and Baron Burns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Four Winds is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Larimore, they will challenge Neenah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
