On Wednesday, Daphne faced Saint James in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Daphne came out on top against Saint James by a score of 4-0. The win was familiar territory for Daphne, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Victoria Moten was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Moten wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Gregg, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Daphne's record is now 13-2. As for Saint James, they moved to 24-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Daphne is taking a road trip to face off against Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Fairhope 2.9, Daphne 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Saint James, they will challenge Montgomery Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
