It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cross County can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amherst Broncos on Thursday. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Amherst's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Breckyn Layne Veskerna led the charge by getting 25 digs. Layne Veskerna has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. Londyn Mitchell was another key player, getting 18 digs and one assist.

Cross County's defeat dropped their record down to 26-9. As for Amherst, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Cross County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Amherst, they will square off against Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
