Baseball Game Preview: Keller Indians vs. V.R. Eaton Eagles

The Keller Indians will take on the V.R. Eaton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Keller 2.7, V.R. Eaton 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Keller is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Harvard-Westlake just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when V.R. Eaton took on Timber Creek on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

Griffin Bourland was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those two earned runs gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, V.R. Eaton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Brechler, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Joseph Frazier also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

V.R. Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Keller, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.
