Gates County won against Martin County last Tuesday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Gates County Red Barons breezed by the Washington County Panthers to the tune of 66-33. The Red Barons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Gates County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zebriya Woodley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Woodley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was London Barber, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Gates County was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington County only racked up eight assists.

Washington County's loss came despite strong showings from Aaliyah Carter and Ke'Nyia Young. Carter posted 11 points and five assists, while Young went 6 for 12 to rack up 13 points.

Gates County's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points over those games. As for Washington County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
