After losing to Our Lady Academy the last time they met, Brandon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Crescents on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Brandon got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 18-25, 15-13.

Mauri Mills paced Brandon's offense, picking up eight kills. Mills got some help from Mia Williams and her 20 assists. Mills was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Our Lady Academy still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Knoblock, who had six digs and two aces.

Brandon's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Our Lady Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.

Coincidentally, Brandon and Our Lady Academy will both be playing Gulfport the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Admirals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Crescents will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
