Basketball Recap: Lee Find Success

Rye Cove came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Lee, but Kinley Huff wouldn't allow it. The Lee Generals strolled past the Rye Cove Eagles with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 59-42 thanks in part to Huff, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on her way to 41 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lee's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Garrett, who posted four points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. Those 11 boards gave her a new career-high.

Lee's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Rye Cove, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Lee will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Abingdon at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Abingdon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Rye Cove, they will head out to face off against Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
