            Softball Recap: Berean Christian Bulldogs vs. Highlands Christian Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Berean Christian had lost four straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it five. They came up short against  the Highlands Christian Knights, falling  25-15. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won  23-13.
  Lillian Severson and  Julianne Severson stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Lillian  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI, while  Julianne  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brianna Acosta, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
As for Highlands Christian, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 On Highlands Christian's side,  Gianna Bautista was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four  runs, three  RBI,  and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  Bautista a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Samantha Hopkins, who  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berean Christian will welcome Boca Raton Christian  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Blazers at the right time seeing as the Blazers are stuck on  a  13-game losing streak. As for Highlands Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dr. Joaquin Garcia  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
