Basketball Recap: Jordan Buckhalter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bishop Noland Episcopal Day over Christian Home Educators Fellowship

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Christian Home Educators Fellowship on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots by a score of 66-63. The Eagles have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Buckhalter, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Those 23 points gave Buckhalter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson LeBlanc, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 21 points.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 7-2. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Faith Training Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Christian Home Educators Fellowship and Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
