Basketball Game Preview: Mooresville Blue Devils vs. West Cabarrus Wolverines

The Mooresville Blue Devils will face off against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mooresville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Tuesday, Mooresville took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-36 win over South Iredell. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Vikings are ranked 489th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Cabarrus). They blew past A.L. Brown 93-47 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolverines have posted since January 3, 2024.

Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.1 points per game. As for West Cabarrus, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Mooresville beat West Cabarrus 64-57 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Mooresville repeat their success, or does West Cabarrus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
