Softball Recap: Lockney Comes Up Short

If Lockney was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Quanah last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Longhorns lost 11-1 to the Lubbock Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Lockney saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Marmolejo, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Lockney's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Lubbock Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lockney will face off against Memphis at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lubbock Christian, they will take on Ira at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
