Basketball Recap: Windsor Owls vs. Affton Cougars
After soaring to 59 points the game before, the Windsor Owls were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Affton. Windsor was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Affton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amelia Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Wilson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna M daughtry, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Affton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Windsor is on the road again on Monday and plays the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Perryville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Affton, they will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Riverview Gardens has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 19.
