Basketball Recap: Rossview Takes a Loss

If Rossview was feeling good fresh off their 74-46 takedown of Creek Wood last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rossview Hawks took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dickson County Cougars on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Cougars are ranked 62nd).

Despite the loss, Rossview still got an impressive performance from JiYair Rose, who posted 22 points and six boards. Rose's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Roland Morton, who earned 13 points and five rebounds.

Rossview dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Dickson County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Rossview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-54 loss against Kenwood on the 13th. As for Dickson County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-66 win against Springfield on the 13th.
