Softball Recap: Irondequoit Eagles vs. Greece Odyssey Leopards
Irondequoit took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Greece Odyssey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Leopards 6-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Emilia Newell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abby Ras, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Cooley, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI.
