Cornwall Central is 9-1 against Minisink Valley since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons will square off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cornwall Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 50-6 victory over Warwick. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cornwall Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sage Caesar, who rushed for 95 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 39 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Caesar a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Cornwall Central also got a significant boost from Danny Twomey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minisink Valley). They blew past Our Lady of Lourdes 52-15 on Friday. Given Minisink Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Our Lady of Lourdes is ranked 138th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cornwall Central better keep an eye on Zach Filip. He was instrumental in Minisink Valley's win, rushing for 113 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while also catching one touchdown. Filip has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Minisink Valley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Our Lady of Lourdes to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. Minisink Valley wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 83.3%.
Cornwall Central's record now sits at 8-1. As for Minisink Valley, their record is now 9-0.
Cornwall Central barely slipped by Minisink Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 27-26. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
