Soccer Game Preview: Eastern York vs. Red Lion

The Eastern York Golden Knights will square off against the Red Lion Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Eastern York's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Eastern York's offense. They fell 2-0 to New Oxford on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Eastern York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 320th, while New Oxford are ranked 123rd).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Red Lion duked it out with William Penn on Tuesday. The Lions came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for Red Lion in their matchups with William Penn: they've now won three in a row.

Red Lion's victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1. As for Eastern York, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Eastern York took their win against Red Lion in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Golden Knights repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
