Soccer Recap: Sammamish Comes Up Short

Sammamish lost against Mercer Island back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The RedHawks lost 6-1 to the Islanders. While losing is never fun, Sammamish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Mercer Island are ranked 59th).

Sammamish's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Mercer Island, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Sammamish will head out to take on Juanita at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mercer Island, they will venture away from home to challenge Hazen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
