Basketball Game Preview: Central Heights Vikings vs. Northern Heights Wildcats

Central Heights is 1-9 against Northern Heights since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Central Heights Vikings will head out to take on the Northern Heights Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Northern Heights took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Central Heights, who comes in off a win.

Central Heights is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Southern Coffey County 46-11. The Vikings pushed the score to 41-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Titans had little chance of recovering from.

Central Heights relied on the efforts of Macy Cubit, who went 6-for-11 en route to 14 points, and Addison Ouellette, who posted ten points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Cubit a new career-high in shooting accuracy (55%). Another player making a difference was Melaney Chrisjohn, who had five points.

Meanwhile, Northern Heights is still winless after their match against West Franklin last Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Falcons.

Northern Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-15-2. As for Central Heights, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Central Heights didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northern Heights when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 37-33 victory.
