Natchitoches Central barely beat Byrd the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Natchitoches Central was the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over Byrd on Thursday. Considering the Chiefs have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Natchitoches Central's third in a row) raised their record to 15-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Byrd, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17-1.

Natchitoches Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Byrd: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
