Volleyball Game Preview: Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions vs. Front Royal HomeSchool Flames

The Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions will face off against the Front Royal HomeSchool Flames at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northern Virginia HomeSchool will be strutting in after a victory while Front Royal HomeSchool will be coming in after a defeat.

While Northern Virginia HomeSchool's win against Covenant Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Centurions won by a set and slipped past the Golden Eagles 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Centurions in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Northern Virginia HomeSchool took Covenant Christian Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 23-25, 15-11.

Northern Virginia HomeSchool's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Fisher, who had nine digs. Those nine digs gave Fisher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillie Drown, who had eight digs and three aces.

Northern Virginia HomeSchool was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Front Royal HomeSchool came up short against Northern Virginia HomeSchool on Saturday and fell 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Flames in their meetings with the Centurions: they've now lost four in a row.

Front Royal HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
