Softball Recap: Byron Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lutheran last Tuesday, Byron came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 5-1 to the Winnebago Indians on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Byron's record is now 5-11. As for Winnebago, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Byron will head out to take on Genoa-Kingston at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cogs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Winnebago, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
