Volleyball Preview: Manteno Panthers vs. Herscher Tigers
Manteno has been away from home for five games now, but on Tuesday they'll finally make their return. They will welcome the Herscher Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Manteno will be strutting in after a victory while Herscher will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Manteno earned a 2-0 win over Pontiac.
Manteno never let Pontiac on the board, but things got pretty close in the 0th set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19.
Manteno relied on the efforts of Kaylee Boudreau, who had 11 digs and two aces, and Morgan Derrico, who had six digs.
Meanwhile, Herscher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pontiac.
While Herscher had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20.
Manteno has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Herscher, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
