Preview: Mary Persons Bulldogs vs. Peach County Trojans
The Mary Persons Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Peach County Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Mary Persons strolled past Jackson with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. Given Mary Persons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Jackson is ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mary Persons to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaria Wilson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Zoey Shannon, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Peach County put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perry 67-35 on the road. The win was nothing new for Peach County as they're now sitting on six straight.
Mary Persons has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Peach County, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Mary Persons didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Peach County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. Will Mary Persons repeat their success, or does Peach County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
