Preview: Brophy College Prep Broncos vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

The Brophy College Prep Broncos's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brophy College Prep extended their postseason success on Friday against Casteel. They enjoyed a cozy 31-17 victory over the Colts.

Brophy College Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie McGinnis, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Red Mountain faced Pinnacle in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Red Mountain narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pinnacle 27-24. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Red Mountain was the better team in the second half.

Red Mountain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was IsaiaH Savoie out in front who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Savoie hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Simon Lopez, who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Red Mountain's defense and their 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Jameson Wade and his two sacks.

Brophy College Prep's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points per game. As for Red Mountain, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Brophy College Prep came up short against Red Mountain in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 45-38. Thankfully for Brophy College Prep, Lenox Lawson (who rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
