Football Game Preview: Green Tech Eagles vs. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens

Green Tech hasn't had much luck against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will square off against the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. Green Tech's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Green Tech took a 24-point loss the last time they faced off against Gloversville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Huskies/Dragons 14-12.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of Lansingburgh by a score of 14-12. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Ravens came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Knights are ranked 300th).

Green Tech will have to contain Mason Carkner as he made an impact in Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's last game. He rushed for 91 yards and one score, and also threw for 178 yards on 13 of 22 attempts. 124 of Carkner's passing yards were hauled in by Ta'Rae Makhi Green.

The victory got Green Tech back to even at 2-2. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Green Tech was dealt a bruising 50-6 loss at the hands of Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Eagles, Ethan Green (who rushed for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
