Basketball Game Preview: Grove City Eagles vs. Fairview Tigers

The Grove City Eagles will take on the Fairview Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Grove City's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Last Friday, the stars were shining brightly for Grove City in a 57-40 win over Mercyhurst Prep.

Meanwhile, Fairview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 50-44 W over the Braves. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Grove City pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Fairview, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
