Volleyball Recap: Lake Travis Comes Up Short

Lake Travis was the 3-1 winner over Dripping Springs when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Cavaliers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lake Travis started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-16.

Gentry Barker paced Lake Travis' offense, picking up 18 kills. Barker got some help from Adyson Davis and her 26 assists. Davis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Dripping Springs can attribute much of their success to Emerson Robbins, who had 16 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Robbins has posted since back in September.

Lake Travis' loss dropped their record down to 31-11. As for Dripping Springs, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-18.

Lake Travis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bowie on the 21st. As for Dripping Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Akins on the 21st.
