Ash Grove has gone 9-1 against Lockwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pirates will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Lockwood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ash Grove, who comes in off a win.

While Ash Grove's win against Marionville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Comets on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 24, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Lockwood faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Lockwood fell just short of Skyline by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, Lockwood couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kallie Griffin put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Griffin wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reese Whitesell, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Lockwood's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Ash Grove, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8.

Ash Grove took their victory against Lockwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-9 score. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
