Basketball Recap: St. Xavier Takes Down Lebanon in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, St. Xavier rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Lebanon Warriors 45-25. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

St. Xavier was led to victory by Donovan Waleskowski and Brayden Reilly. Waleskowski shot 83% from the field on his way to 14 points, while Reilly posted ten points and four steals. The last time Waleskowski's shooting accuracy was this high was back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Deeley, who earned six points.

St. Xavier has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The loss snapped Lebanon's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-11 record.

Looking ahead, St. Xavier will take on Lakota West at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakota West will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something St. Xavier surely won't give up without a fight. Lebanon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
