Softball Recap: Northside Christian Has No Trouble Against Admiral Farragut

Northside Christian hadn't done well against Admiral Farragut recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went the Northside Christian Mustangs' way against the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets as the Northside Christian Mustangs made off with a 25-2 win. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Aryah Walters was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Walters was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Brielle Nestor was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. Another player making a difference was Macy SMith, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4.

Northside Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Admiral Farragut, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Northside Christian will take on Seffner Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Seffner Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something Northside Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. Admiral Farragut will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Boca Ciega at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
