Soccer Game Preview: Dan River vs. Nelson County

The Dan River Wildcats will face off against the Nelson County Governors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Nelson County better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Dan River's game on Monday is any indication, that's when Dan River really gets things going. The Wildcats blew past Patrick County 4-1.

Meanwhile, Nelson County strolled into their game on Monday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Altavista. Considering Nelson County have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Nelson County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five matches. As for Dan River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season.
