Recap: Pahrump Valley Trojans vs. Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons
The Pahrump Valley Trojans came tearing into Thursday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas by a score of 47-38. Given Pahrump Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas is ranked 48th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pahrump Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paris Coleman, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Heaven Cooper, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Pahrump Valley pushed their record up to 21-1 with that victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.
Pahrump Valley will head out on the road to face off against Moapa Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Moapa Valley: 27.5, Pahrump Valley: 24) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 5:00 p.m.
