Softball Recap: Oak Hill Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mount Abram

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Hill). Everything went their way against the Mount Abram Roadrunners on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-1 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Izzy Whitaker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Whitaker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Oak Hill let Carlee Austin and Ava Rivet run wild. Austin got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Rivet went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Rivet's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Olivia French, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Oak Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.

Oak Hill's record is now 4-5. As for Mount Abram, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Oak Hill will head out to square off against Hall-Dale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Abram, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Old Orchard Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Seagulls have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.29 runs per game on average), something the Roadrunners will no doubt try to take advantage of.
