Softball Recap: West Limestone Has No Trouble Against Elkmont

West Limestone won the last time they faced Elkmont and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Red Devils 9-2. Considering the Wildcats have won 20 matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

JuliAnn Kyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 19 Ks.

On the hitting side, Aubrey Bethune and Lilly Bethune did most of the damage at the plate: Aubrey scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Lilly went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Haley Waggoner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for West Limestone and bumps their season record up to 32-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Elkmont, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Limestone will take on Florence in a tournament on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elkmont, they will host Whitesburg Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
