Basketball Game Preview: Weimar Wildcats vs. Flatonia Bulldogs

The Weimar Wildcats will challenge the Flatonia Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Weimar is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Shiner just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comanches.

Meanwhile, Flatonia waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hornets 76-17. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Hornets are ranked 1468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Flatonia pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.4 points per game. As for Weimar, their loss dropped their record down to 18-11.

Weimar took a serious blow against Flatonia in their previous meeting on January 7th, falling 65-31. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Weimar was down 35-15.
