There's no place like home for Mater Academy Charter, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by  a  12-2 margin over the Dr. Krop Lightning on Thursday. Considering the Lions' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Vladi Baldepina looked comfortable as he  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Mater Academy Charter got a  massive  performance out of  Yodelkis Quevedo, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  Quevedo has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Jonathan Esponda, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Mater Academy Charter  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .645. They are  a perfect 8-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Mater Academy Charter has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9-1 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Dr. Krop, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
 Mater Academy Charter and Dr. Krop are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lions will face off against Everglades at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Dr. Krop, they will take on Nova at 8:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
