Basketball Recap: Wilcox RVT Takes a Loss

Wilcox RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitney RVT Owls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-50 back in January.

Despite the loss, Wilcox RVT still got an impressive performance from Ian Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Perez, who posted ten points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Wilcox RVT was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 13 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Wilcox RVT's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Whitney RVT, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Wilcox RVT will be playing in front of their home fans against Wright Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilcox RVT is facing Wright Tech at the right time seeing as Wright Tech is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Whitney RVT, they will head out on the road to take on Abbott RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
