Basketball Recap: Northeastern Clinton Find Success

Northeastern Clinton hadn't done well against AuSable Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars came out on top against the AuSable Valley Patriots by a score of 55-47. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Celton Dupis, who went 8 of 15 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. Dupis is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Hayden Bombard, who posted five points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Northeastern Clinton's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for AuSable Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Northeastern Clinton will square off against Peru at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeastern Clinton is facing Peru at the right time seeing as Peru is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for AuSable Valley, they will take on Crown Point at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
