Softball Game Preview: Muir Mustangs vs. Arcadia Apaches

Muir hasn't had much luck against Arcadia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will face off against the Apaches at 3:45 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Things were looking good for Muir after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Schurr, falling 13-2.

Muir saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gigi Butler, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.

Arcadia had taken Burroughs down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end last Thursday. The Apaches lost 7-1 to the Bears.

Nia White made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Arcadia's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3-1. As for Muir, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Muir's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Mustangs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Arcadia, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Muir continue to outrun the ball?
