Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pineville). They put the hurt on the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets with a sharp 18-1 victory on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Mountain Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.
Rachel Howard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in hits (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Monica Whitehead was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
