Recap: West Forsyth Titans vs. East Forsyth Eagles

On Friday, The West Forsyth Titans faced the East Forsyth Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Forsyth took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Forsyth. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Forsyth in their matchups with East Forsyth: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, West Forsyth still got an impressive performance from Caman Chaplin, who rushed for 283 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Chaplin's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Darell Paige was another key contributor, gaining 76 total yards and two touchdowns.

East Forsyth was led to victory by Jaylin Murry and Bryce Baker. Murry picked up 120 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Baker threw for 342 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Baker is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Alston, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.

West Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for East Forsyth, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Forsyth will take on Ardrey Kell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ardrey Kell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while West Forsyth is ranked 18th). As for East Forsyth, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Page at 7:00 p.m.
