Preview: Gallia Academy Blue Devils vs. Ironton Fighting Tigers
The Gallia Academy Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Ironton Fighting Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gallia Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 515th, while Ironton is ranked 229th).
Last Tuesday, Gallia Academy suffered a rough 69-46 loss at the hands of South Point. Gallia Academy has not had much luck with South Point recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Ironton fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Portsmouth on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 92-85 to the Trojans. Ironton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gallia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Ironton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
Gallia Academy was dealt a bruising 60-31 loss at the hands of Ironton in their previous matchup back in January.
