Basketball Game Preview: East Marshall Mustangs vs. Kuemper Knights

East Marshall has won three straight games at home, while Kuemper has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The East Marshall Mustangs will welcome the Kuemper Knights. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, East Marshall was fully in charge, breezing past Ogden 86-56. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Kuemper was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Albert last Tuesday, taking the game 77-68. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Falcons are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Marshall is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.5 points over those games. As for Kuemper, their win bumped their record up to 20-1.
