Basketball Game Preview: Fowler Redcats vs. Clovis Cougars

The Fowler Redcats will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Clovis Cougars on Thursday. Clovis took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fowler, who comes in off a win.

Fowler's tournament run continued when they took on Kerman on Saturday. Fowler walked away with a 72-60 win over Kerman. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Redcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 962nd, while the Lions are ranked 451st).

Meanwhile, Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 84-75 to Arbor View.

Fowler has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Clovis, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 5-7.

Fowler beat Clovis 69-61 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Fowler repeat their success, or does Clovis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
