Baseball Recap: Carroll Christian Comes Up Short

Yeshivas Mekor Chaim hit Carroll Christian with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Carroll Christian fell just short of Yeshivas Mekor Chaim by a score of 11-10. Carroll Christian was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Yeshivas Mekor Chaim earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Carter Comstock was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Comstock was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Alex Duncan stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Owen Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Carroll Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Yeshivas Mekor Chaim, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Carroll Christian will challenge Arlington Baptist at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yeshivas Mekor Chaim does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
