Recap: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Wynot Blue Devils

There's no place like home for the Wayne Blue Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Wynot by a score of 60-53 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wayne also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Wayne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Colson Nelsen out in front who scored 16 points along with two steals. Nelsen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Backer, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Wayne pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Wynot, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Wayne will head out on the road to take on Crofton at 6:03 p.m. on Monday. As for Wynot, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hartington-Newcastle at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Hartington-Newcastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
